Online education plays a major role in helping individuals access the learner-centred and self-centred instruction. Online learning fits into the busy lives of the students, thereby making it easier for them to continue their further education. The limitations posed by a traditional method of learning are encouraging more and more students to opt for online learning programs. This is something that is certainly not called for especially in today’s world where almost everything can be done with the click of button.
The panel discussion event took place on 10 July 2020 through an online platform by the department of English, Sacred Heart College. The discussion was on the topic "Merits and Demerits of Online Education" , held in the presence of a chief guest, Sr. Sonia, assistant professor, department of English, Nirmalagiri College Kannur. Donna Ann George noted about the bad network connection which prevents one from accessing anything and Aswijith also raised points about the network problems which disrupt the connection between the computer and the content that one is trying to access. Panellists Sukanya V Mohan and KS Yedusree, discussed the merits of Online Education. Sukanya V Mohan noted the convenience and flexibility of online classes.
